Stop the spread of flu

Just a reminder that we still need to be diligent and stop the spread of flu and germs by washing hands, covering coughs and sneezes and staying home from work or school. However, if your condition worsens, seek medical advice by phoning Healthline on 0800 611 116 or your healthcare provider.

Dental Service

You don't have to be a member of Whai Oranga Health Service or our PHO to access the dental service. Prices vary, depending on whether you have a Community Service Card, or if you are a member of our primary health organisation Piki te ora ki te Awakairangi (PHO). This is a year long pilot scheme and we are hopeful that it will become a permanent and sustainable dental service providing affordable dental care to our community. We do need your support for this service and request payment before each treatment. During your first visit the Dentist will do an examination and two xrays, a treatment plan with costs will then be prepared. For more information, please call the Health Centre on 5646966.

Measles Outbreak

Due to the current Measles outbreak in the South Island and following recent guidelines from Regional Public Health, we will be recalling children early who are due for their 15 month vaccinations (MMR, HIB and Prevenaar). They will now be recalled from 12 months of age.

We will also be focusing on getting our children who are overdue for their vaccinations up to date. The Measles vaccination is given at 15 months and 4 years, if your child has missed these important vaccinations, please ring and book an appointment, as soon as possible..

If you do not wish to have your child vaccinated, please ring so we can take you them off our recall system.
